In line with ongoing national efforts to develop the agricultural production sector, particularly in the rationalization of irrigation water—a vital national resource—the Faculty of Agriculture at Minia University has organized a specialized training course titled "Establishment and Design of Drip Irrigation Networks." The course reflects the university's sustained commitment to enhancing the skills of its students and graduates in agricultural fields, aligning with political leadership directives to improve and develop agricultural output.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Essam El-Din Sadek Farhat, President of the University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hamdy Ibrahim Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the course was inaugurated on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Hamdan Ibrahim Mahmoud, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Salah Mohamed Hussein, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Atef Abdel Mohsen Abdel Rahman, Executive Director of the Training Unit.

This two-day course, held on Wednesday and Thursday, December 10–11, 2025, aims to enhance participants' technical skills and knowledge in modern irrigation methods, with a focus on drip irrigation. The training is led by Dr. Ahmed Hussam El-Din Hamza, Lecturer in the Department of Soils at the Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University.

Comprising 12 training hours, the program integrates theoretical lectures and practical exercises covering all aspects of drip irrigation network design and implementation. Topics range from selecting suitable land for such systems to identifying the most compatible crops for drip irrigation. The course seeks to empower participants to address challenges in this vital field, thereby improving agricultural productivity, promoting water conservation, and strengthening Egypt's competitiveness in global agricultural markets.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Agriculture at Minia University aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills, contributing to their professional development and supporting the national vision for advancing and modernizing the agricultural sector.
