Major General Emad Kedwani, the Governor of Minia, and Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat, the President of Minia University, held a ceremony to inaugurate 17 agricultural greenhouses at the Faculty of Agriculture at the university. These agricultural greenhouses aim to enhance agricultural production through advanced technology, aligning with the state's vision to achieve self-sufficiency and bridge the gap between consumption and production.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Hamdy Ebrahim, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Mahmoud Abd El Hady, the Director of the Agricultural Experiments and Research Center, along with deans and vice deans of the university's faculties, and Dr. Bassem Mahmoud, the University Secretary-General.
The attendees received a detailed explanation from Dr. Mahmoud Abd El Hady about the agricultural greenhouse project, which targets the production of various crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, colored peppers, as well as cantaloupe and watermelon cultivation. Dr. Mahmoud mentioned plans to expand the greenhouses to reach 19 units and to add a fish production unit in the future.
As part of efforts to promote sustainable agriculture, Major General Emad Kedwani and Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat inaugurated the Bio stimulants Center at the university. This center serves as a service center aimed at providing biofertilizers to farmers at competitive prices to reduce environmental pollution.
The ceremony also included the "Autumn Flowers" exhibition organized by the educational nursery at the Faculty of Agriculture, showcasing a variety of flowers that characterize the autumn season. This initiative aligns with the university's direction towards sustainable development and digital transformation under the slogan "A Smart Green University."
In his statements, Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat, the University President, emphasized that these projects represent a model of productive initiatives and enhance the university's role as a key partner in comprehensive development in the region.
